These days, pairing isn't just about food and wine. As part of West Hollywood's The Avenues: Art, Fashion & Design District, the Taste Art event series pairs WeHo restaurants with local fine-art galleries for a new kind of dining experience, one that draws on the visual arts as inspiration.

Every Tuesday night in October, a different West Hollywood restaurant offers a custom-designed multi-course menu and wine pairing, served with artwork selected by a corresponding gallery. The “art tastings” are designed to appeal to a range of styles and budgets, and the restaurant's chef and sommelier, along with the gallery curator, discuss their choices in a special presentation.

Taste Art launched last week with a dinner at Gordon Ramsay at the London Hotel, bringing together Tasende Gallery's artwork by Fernando Botero and a menu prepared by Chef Anthony Keene and sommelier Jeremy Roberts. October 12, RH at Andaz teams up with LLG Group Gallery. October 19, restaurant/gallery pairings include Comme Ça and FotoNostalgia; Sunset Marquis Restaurant and George Stern Fine Arts; and Sur Restaurant and Rebecca Molayem Gallery. The final night of the series, October 26 brings together BLT Steak with Aboriginal Dreamtime Gallery, while Cecconi's joins forces with Hamilton Selway Fine Art and Trigg Ison Fine Art, and Petrossian Restaurant is paired with Martin & Lozano Gallery.

Taste Art: Tuesdays throughout October at various West Hollywood restaurants. $75 to $200 per person. More information on the series is available at the Taste Art website.
