Attention aspiring TV writers: Sure, there are resources out there for honing your craft in a town like Los Angeles, but are all of them hosted at a fantastic comics store? With some of the finest writers in the biz, and benefiting a nonprofit writing center? Fire up those laptops and head down to Meltdown Comics for “TV Writing! A Four-Part Series,” which is on every Sunday this month in the newly christened Nerdist Industries space behind the shop. This weekend's third installment features Community creator Dan Harmon, Modern Family's Steven Levitan and Party Down's John Enbom, with moderator Ben Blacker (half of the creative team behind Largo at the Coronet's excellent Thrilling Adventure Hour live shows). Up for discussion will be topics including “long days, stale jokes, breaking new ground and the looming threat of new media.” Proceeds from the series go to 826LA, a writing and tutoring center with locations in Echo Park and Venice.
