Probably the most promising moment in the restaurant shuffle this month, was Choza Mama's takeover of the old Hooters space in Old Town Pasadena. The popular Burbank Peruvian restaurant unquestionably gives Old Town some needed points in the class and culture department. Speaking of culture, Nate 'N Al set up shop in Thousand Oaks and is now serving matzoh balls and pastrami to Ventura County. La Bottega Marino opened a third restaurant in Beverly Hills and T-Salon, a specialty tea house and cafe, opened on Melrose.

The West Coast branch of New York's Orso served its last supper on the 21st, after 28 years in LA, and The Gorbals not only opened its doors for dinner, but–as of tomorrow–will open them for lunch as well.
