11-Year-Old Girl Pronounced Dead after ATV Collision near Arivaca Road

TUCSON, AZ (June 26, 2023) – Late Tuesday, an 11-year-old girl was killed in an ATV crash on Interstate 19.

Police responded to the scene near Arivaca Road on June 6th, after receiving multiple dispatch calls in the area.

According to reports, an ATV operated by a 15-year-old girl with an 11-year-old passenger lost control and slammed into the rear of a parked flatbed tow-truck.

As a result, both occupants were ejected from the ATV onto the road. Emergency crews say they were both not wearing a helmet at the time. Paramedics transported both girls to a nearby hospital.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, crews pronounced the 11-year-old girl dead on the way to the hospital.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information is still currently underway. Once available, more details will be provided.
