These days, there are many ways to make money. With the advent of the internet and, more recently, social media, it has become easier than ever to make money without investing anything. That is something people like Nathan Johnson did. At just 13 years old, he made his first $100 on Instagram by selling a promotional post. Now that he is 20 years old, he had a full-fledged business that supports him doing whatever he wants, whenever he wants to do it.

Most teens are using Instagram to connect with their friends and upload selfies. However, Nathan was more entrepreneurial-minded than most. He saw the success that themed pages enjoyed and decided he would give it a shot himself.

Rather than just having one page, Nathan started several. He thought this would be a better strategy to take, since one page following one theme could take off while others did not. This diversification strategy ended up being a prudent move for him. As Nathan was heading back home at an airport, he received a message from a company called Amp Me that wanted to pay him $100 for the ability to advertise on one of his popular Instagram pages. He was absolutely ecstatic when he found out.

However, his mother was a bit more suspicious. At the time, she didn’t understand social media that well and actually thought it was a scam. However, after the $100 showed up in his PayPal account, and the transaction looked kosher, she became a true believer. After that initial success, his mom became his main mentor, and his dad starting taking a more prominent role in his new Instagram-based business as well.

Having this kind of support is something Nathan believes can help anyone who is aspiring to be an entrepreneur. Being able to get that positive reinforcement is something that provides the kind of support you usually need to keep going, even when the going gets tough.

Every path to success has obstacles along the way. Learning how to push through and overcome those obstacles separates people who succeed and fail. After all, most businesses fail within the first year. Most of the time, this is due to the lack of motivation, or the fear, the business owner has when things become challenging. By having his family and girlfriend by his side, rooting him on, Nathan has been able to overcome obstacles and achieve extraordinary success as a social media marketing expert.

Looking ahead to the future, Nathan plans to scale his current business and expand on the success he has already had. This involves working with more businesses, and eventually, major corporations. Nathan has found an issue with some of the world’s largest companies is that they have a weak social media presence. With his skills and carefully-crafted strategies, Nathan is confident he can help corporations having a more well-established social media presence that will help their bottom line.
