The Comedy Meltdown show, dropping monthly at Meltdown Comics on Sunset, has demonstrated no signs of letting up in its relentless greatness. An intimate li'l gallery space in the back of a comics shop hosts a packed lineup of truly superb comedians, plus the beer is free with the cover. Why can't this happen every week? you may have wondered, and not just once a month. Stop wondering and clear your Wednesday nights, because master of ceremonies Jonah Ray (along with new co-host Kumail Nanjiani) has decided to take the show weekly, supplementing the stand-ups with sketch comedy as well as film shorts. This week, the newly christened The Meltdown is headlined by the great Marc Maron, plus Matt Dwyer, Jason Adomian, Matt Braunger and a FunnyOrDie short from Willy Roberts and Mike Stebbins.
