Mayor Villaraigosa is getting razzed for slipping into a form of black-speak during an African-American Heritage Month presentation at City Hall over the weekend. The mayor was honoring Chaka Khan and Jamie Foxx in a ceremony launching the month-long festivities to recognize black culture and leadership in L.A.

KABC 790 TalkRadio has been playing audio of the mayor's Friday presentation. Reporter Michael Linder got it all on tape. Speaking of Chaka Khan, Villaraigosa assumed a preacher-like voice: “She's received 10 Grammy awards everybody. And a BET lifetime achievement awode. By the way, I'm at the BET awards every year held here in Los Angeles.”

Speaking of Jamie Foxx, who was at his side, the mayor said, “Is there anything Jamie Foxx can't do? Mannnn … I love, I love that convosation we had in our office a few minutes ago. Because you know what — don't think for the moment that this brother couldn't run for office.”

In response, Jamie Foxx spoke Spanish. (Yes he did).
