Pedestrian Accident in Laguna Beach Left 39-Year-Old Man Dead

LAGUNA BEACH, CA (January 31, 2023) – Saturday morning, Xueyuan Zhang was fatally struck by a vehicle on South Coast Highway. The fatal incident happened around 2:47 a.m. at the 700 block of South Coast Highway in Laguna Beach. According to reports, Zhang was walking outside of a nearby crosswalk when a vehicle struck him. Witnesses contacted 911. First responders to the site of the collision declared 39-year-old Xueyuan Zhang dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the involved driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators. Police said the alcohol or drugs did not play a factor in the incident.
