The times truly are a-changin. Bob Dylan has left his legacy on countless folks, even in hip-hop. People may have forgotten, but he has collaborated with everyone from Kurtis Blow to Wyclef Jean (remember the “Gone Till November” video?), and touched on his love of the genre on his Theme Time radio show.

What can't be explained, however, is that, Chet Haze-like, his 15-year-old grandson Pablo Dylan has decided to go into the family business (sort of) and try his hand at rapping.

The son of Bob's filmmaking son Jesse, Young Pablo in an interview with Allhiphop.com (kudos to these fellas for digging for this one) calls his grandpops the “Jay-Z of his generation.” This loyal Dylan fan wonders, however, if he should have said that Young H-O is like the Dylan of HIS generation. Yet all is not lost; Pablo says his main influences are Eminem and yes, dear ol' gramps himself.

“My single with [Young Money artist] Lil Chuckee and Darnell Robinson is dropping soon,” an excited Pablo explained during his interview. “Me and Darnell did a song on my mixtape, he hooked me up with all the people and they sent the song back with a hook and few verses.”

The 10-minute mixtape in fact features the youngster flexing his skill, or rather his potential. Take a listen and be the judge whether or not Pablo Dylan should stay in the family business or perhaps try his hand at something else — like his dad did with filmmaking.
