Had enough of the entertainment mags and TV show “experts” dissecting every frock, baubble and last strand of hair seen on the Emmy's red carpet and after-parties last week? We sure have. High fashion designers were falling all over themselves to dress TV's royalty last week, and apparently it really pays off for them, but our pick for best dressed was anything but the pretentious/pricey glamor we see every year.

Actress Pauley Perrette of Navy: NCIS fame (she's the punky forensic scientist) decided to pass on all the freebie fashion and gaudy jewels and wear something close to her heart, this t-shirt of her own design, at the People Mag/Entertainment Tonight Emmy party. The tee, which she paired with a leopard print skirt and relaxed hair and makeup, has really gotten around, and not just on the carpet. Perrette has been making them by the hundreds and distributing them around town for free for several months now, and one even ended up at the DNC (and subsequently an LA Times fashion feature), after a gal bought a bunch and paid 'em forward so to speak.

“A Super fun chain of giving!” Perrette -who makes no money off the shirts- calls it. Somehow we dont see McCain supporters being as selfless or boldly stylish… though Sarah Palin's fashion sense has intrigued us as of late: hoop earrings, red pumps and her naughty secretary look all happen to be seductive style statements, at least they are when we don 'em. If only Hilary could have pulled that stuff off!

Get your “Obama 08 Oh Yeah!” tee here and see this week's Nightranger for more scoop on The People/ET bash with Billy Idol, plus Cheech and Chong's reunion at The Roxy and Booby Trap at Temporary Spaces.

And yes, we're an Obama girl too. Duh.
