Nerds. We feel for you. Comic-Con isn't coming to Los Angeles. Everyone with a laptop and a Blogger account thinks they don't need you to design a website anymore. And girls still don't like you. But there's hope: The World Cyber Games is in L.A. for four days through the weekend.

The 10th annual Cyber Games features 450 to top virgins gamers from 60 countries with $250,000 worth of cash and prizes on the line. That can buy a lot of T1 router.

According to the mymym site, which appears to be covering the event as well as any, couch potatoes competitors will be battling it out via the following titles:

Warcraft III, Starcraft, FIFA 10, Counter-Strike 1.6, Trackmania, Carom 3D, Guitar Hero 5, Tekken 6, Forza Motorsport 3, Lost Saga and League of Legends.

(Tingles. This is better than that time we got locked inside a GameStop after-hours).

“2010 marks 10 years of World Cyber Games, in that time we have brought together more than 10 million people from 90 nations to celebrate the achievements and triumphs of nearly six thousand players,” said the games' CEO, Hyoung Seok Kim. “World Cyber Games is home to a global community of passionate gamers and their fans, for an annual four day festival of gaming that offers fun, excitement and thrilling competition on an international level — as well as a sneak peek at the future of gaming technology.”

Ah, the future, a mystical place where nerds finally get laid. Can't wait …
