Are you gay? Or do you have gay friends or family? Or out-of-town gay visitors? Well, we have the perfect outing — no pun intended — for you. Out and About Tours is L.A.'s first and only gay bus tour to show off this city's rich queer history and current culture. Hop aboard a double-decker bus in West Hollywood, and Jim Anzide and his gang will give you a high-spirited, detail-filled tour of Boys Town, Hollywood, Silver Lake, Echo Park and downtown. He'll point out where gays and lesbians clashed with police, organized, partied and cruised over the decades. During our tour, we even stopped for a cocktail at a cozy piano bar in Silver Lake, called The Other Side. Anzide comes from a theater background and he has two sidekicks who toss one-liners during the tour. Beverages and snacks are offered, and as you leave the bus, you'll have a good understanding of why Los Angeles is one of the most influential, spunky and fun gay capitals of the world. Meets in front of One Gallery, 626 N. Robertson Blvd., W. Hlywd.; tours Sat.-Sun., 1-4 p.m.; $60; outandabout-tours.com. –Patrick Range McDonald

First Sunday of every month, 1-4 p.m.; Saturdays, 1-4 p.m., 2010
