Hit-and-Run Accident near Hamilton Street Left Woman Dead, Driver Wanted
OAKLAND, CA (October 10, 2022) – Monday night, a woman died following a hit-and-run crash on Hegenberger Road.
Authorities responded to the fatal incident around 9:49 p.m. near Hamilton Street in Oakland.
Upon arrival, officers located one person suffering from critical injuries at the center median south of the intersection.
According to the investigators, a southbound vehicle struck the woman crossing Hegenberger Road outside a crosswalk. However, the involved driver immediately fled the scene before the authorities arrived.
Tragically, the woman succumbed to her injuries despite the life-saving efforts of the first responders. Her identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Furthermore, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
