20-Year-Old Woman Pronounced Dead after Head-On Collision near Northborough Drive

SACRAMENTO, CA (March 15, 2023) – Friday morning, a woman was fatally injured in a wrong-way crash on Elkhorn Boulevard.

Police responded to the scene around 8:30 a.m., on Northborough Drive near the North Natomas Central Mutual Water Company.

According to reports, the driver of an eastbound Honda Civic veered into the westbound lanes and collided head-on with a van.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced the female driver of the Honda dead at the scene. Although, authorities have not yet released her name or place of residency.

Responding paramedics also said the unidentified male driver of the van sustained minor injuries. Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties before it was later reopened.

No further details regarding the wrong-way crash on Elkhorn Boulevard have been released to the public. Sacramento Officials will provide more information once available.
