Berkeley Pedestrian Accident Leaves Woman Killed, One Injured

BERKELEY, CA (July 30, 2021) – Monday, a fatal pedestrian crash near Ashby Avenue took the life of one woman and left another one injured.

Officers responded to a call about the accident around 9:56 p.m., along Ashbury Avenue and Newbury Street.

Upon arrival, the police located the two female pedestrians and the involved driver who remained at the scene.

Afterwards, medical personnel transported the two patients to a hospital for immediate medical attention. One woman was believed to be in her 50s and the other was said to be in her 20s.

One of the victims succumbed to their injuries and died at the hospital, while the other remained in stable condition.

At this time, the identities of people involved in the incident remain unavailable.

The Berkeley authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the pedestrian crash near Ashby Avenue.
