Female Pedestrian Dies in Traffic Accident near Bell Road

PHOENIX, AZ (March 23, 2022) – On Wednesday night, a woman died following a pedestrian crash near 17th Avenue, police said.

Phoenix Police responded to the area of the accident at about 8:45 p.m. near 17th Avenue and Bell Road.

Consequently, authorities located a woman down the roadway sustaining traumatic injuries.

Furthermore, according to the preliminary investigation, a red SUV struck the pedestrian woman in her 50’s while crossing Bell Road outside the marked crosswalk.

Meanwhile, the driver did not sustain any injuries and stayed at the scene to cooperate with law enforcement. Alcohol or drugs were reported to not be contributing factors in the crash.

Eventually, the woman was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

However, the identities of the people involved were not disclosed as of the time; police are currently investigating the fatal pedestrian crash.
