Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Deadly Accident near 21st Street

PHOENIX, AZ (January 11, 2022) – An unidentified woman died following a pedestrian collision on Thomas Road Friday morning.

The accident happened around 4:00 a.m., near the intersection of Thomas Road and 21st Street.

According to the police, the woman was hit by a car while she was crossing Thomas Road in the middle of the block near 21st Street.

Paramedics pronounced the female pedestrian dead at the scene, due to the extent of her condition. Although, authorities have not yet released her name or place of residency.

In addition, the driver of the car remained at the scene for further investigation. However, the driver showed no signs of impairment.

At this time, further circumstances surrounding the collision remain unclear. An active investigation to determine further details is still currently underway.

Authorities closed Thomas Road between 20th Place and 22nd Street for several hours before it was later reopened.
