Pedestrian vs. Vehicle Accident on Mountain Road Left One Woman Dead
ALBUQUERQUE, NM (August 10, 2023) – Late Monday night, a pedestrian accident on Pennsylvania Street left one woman dead. It happened at around 11:20 p.m., August 7th, just south of I-40, involving a hit-and-run driver and a female pedestrian. According to the Albuquerque Police Department, the woman was walking on the northbound side of Pennsylvania pushing her cart when a vehicle also headed northbound slammed into her. Unfortunately, the vehicle that struck the woman left her with life-threatening injuries, that later led to her death. The driver immediately ran away from the scene. Following the events of the collision, the officers suspected pedestrian error and speed as the main factors of the incident. At this time, the identity of the victim was not yet disclosed by the investigating officers, pending next of kin.
