Woman Pushing Shopping Cart Struck and Killed by a Vehicle near Riverside Municipal Airport

RIVERSIDE, CA (August 23, 2021) Authorities are investigating a deadly pedestrian collision that took a woman’s life on Central and Wilderness Avenue.

The collision between the woman and the vehicle occurred around 9:15 P.M. last Wednesday, just south of the Riverside Municipal Airport.

In addition, Riverside Police Department will withhold the information of the victim, while awaiting notification from their next of kin.

Later on, the investigators determined that a 2000 Mercedes-Benz struck the woman while pushing a shopping cart across Central.

Subsequently, a Hyundai Elantra, traveling behind the Mercedes, struck the victim immediately after.

According to the police, both the 52-year-old Mercedes driver and the 22-year-old Hyundai driver stopped to call 911.

Unfortunately, the first responders declared the female Pedestrian dead at the scene.
