Driver Wanted Following Fatal Hit-and-Run Near Monterey Highway
SAN JOSE, CA (July 12, 2023) – Saturday night, a hit-and-run on Capitol Expressway claimed the life of a female pedestrian. Officers responded to the crash around 9:45 p.m. on Capitol Expressway, near the Monterey Highway interchange. According to the investigators, a vehicle traveling westbound on the expressway hit a woman for unknown reasons. Following the collision, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim. At this time, police have not released a description of the suspect or the suspect’s vehicle. Responding paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the woman to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. At around 10:36 p.m., authorities closed down the westbound Capitol Expressway from Seven Trees Boulevard to Snell Avenue to perform cleanup and preliminary duties. At this time, the identity of the deceased victim remains undisclosed to the public.
