Hit-And-Run Crash on Highway 237 Left One Fatality

SHASTA COUNTY, CA (January 6, 2022) – Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash on Highway 273 that left one woman killed Sunday evening.

The incident occurred around 8:55 p.m. in the second lane of northbound Highway 237.

According to the CHP, a white 2017 Honda Accord in the same lane at an unknown speed, struck the woman at Jessie Road.

However, the driver of the Accord parked the vehicle on the Banigan Road and fled the scene before the police arrived.

At this time, Shasta County officials are working to identify the hit-and-run suspect.

Meanwhile, authorities only identified the deceased victim as a 37-year-old woman from Douglas City.
