The incident happened on October 20th, just after 11:00 p.m., just west of State Route 184.

According to reports, the pedestrian was walking eastbound outside a crosswalk when she was struck by the vehicle. The impact of the collision caused the woman to suffer major injuries. Meanwhile, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the pedestrian.

Paramedics later arrived and transported the victim to a local hospital.

Just like a driver is expected to be responsible and abide by all traffic laws, pedestrians also have to behave reasonably and responsibly. If you are buzzed or drunk, it is better to request a paid ride home. You can also reach out to a friend or a family member to come and pick you up. Remember that walking drunk is never a substitute for driving drunk. By being responsible, you can help prevent accidents that can completely change a person’s life.
