Female Pedestrian Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Collision on Pine Avenue

LONG BEACH, CA (January 4, 2022) – A fatal hit-and-run crash on 4th Street left one woman dead Monday evening.

Officers responded to the incident around 5:25 p.m., near the area of 4th Street and Pine Avenue.

According to authorities, the driver of a red pickup-truck struck the woman and dragged her west of 4th Street. Afterwards, a Chevrolet Camaro also hit the woman, dragging her to Pine Avenue.

Eventually, the paramedics arrived and declared the woman dead at the scene.

However, the red pickup-truck driver fled the scene before the authorities arrived. Meanwhile, the Chevrolet driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

Investigators have not yet released the identities of those involved.

At this time, the Long Beach Police Department is asking anyone with information about the hit-and-run crash on 4th Street to contact 562-570-7355.
