Head-On Collision in Desert Hot Springs Leaves One Fatality

RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA (July 23, 2021) – A fatal head-on crash on Thursday claimed the life of a woman in Desert Hot Springs, police said.

The deadly incident occurred around 6 P.M. on North Indian Canyon Drive near Mission Lakes Boulevard.

Later on, investigators determined that an eastbound Kia Rio veered into the pathway of a pickup on the opposite lane.

As a result, the two vehicles collided head-on and killed the 27-year-old female passenger of the Kia.

Meanwhile, paramedics transported the 28-year-old driver to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. In addition, the driver of the pick-up complained about the pain after the crash.

Police shut down a stretch of North Indian Canyon Drive in Desert Hot Springs for more than five hours to investigate the head-on crash.
