47-Year-Old Woman Killed in Big-Rig Accident near State Route 43

HANFORD, CA (December 7, 2022) – Early Tuesday morning, a woman was fatally struck in a semi-truck collision on Kent Avenue.

The fatal incident happened around 2:15 a.m., just west of State Route 43 in Kings County.

According to reports, the driver of an eastbound 1998 Honda failed to yield at a stop sign and traveled into the intersection. As a result, the Honda collided with a southbound freight-liner truck.

The impact of the collision pushed the Honda off the roadway while the semi-truck continued onto the shoulder. The driver of the Honda, a 47-year-old woman, sustained major injuries.

Medical personnel arrived shortly after and transported the woman to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. Although, authorities have not yet released her identity.

Following preliminary duties, officers do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a factor.
