Box Truck Driver Left Elderly Woman on a Bicycle Dead after Collision on Hesperia

HESPERIA, CA (July 27, 2021) – Police are investigating a bicycle crash involving a box truck that claimed the life of an elderly woman last Tuesday.

The deadly incident occurred around 12:05 P.M. at Cottonwood Avenue between Yucca and Main streets.

The responders arrived at the scene and discovered a white 1997 Chevrolet box truck belonging to Armando’s Furniture.

In addition, they also located the elderly victim near a white bicycle lying in the middle of the roadway.

Later on, investigators determined that the female bicyclist made a sudden left-hand turn and got broadsided by the truck behind her.

The box-truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

Hesperia officials are working to identify the 67-year-old woman involved in the bicycle crash.
