Female Victim Pronounced Dead after Solo-Car Crash near State Route 905

OTAY MESA, CA (October 31, 2022) – Early Wednesday morning, a woman was killed and two were hurt in a single-car accident on Interstate 805.

Dispatchers received calls in the area around 3:15 a.m., near State Route 905.

Investigators say the 18-year-old driver of a white BMW lost control and veered off the southbound I-805 on-ramp continuing onto westbound SR-905.

Eventually, the car came to rest after crashing into a nearby tree. Responding firefighters from San Diego Fire-Rescue extricated three people inside the wrecked vehicle.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics pronounced one of the passengers dead at the scene. However, their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

In addition, the condition of the other occupants remains unclear.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further information about the single-car accident on Interstate 805 is still currently underway.
