Female Victim Hurt in Big-Rig Crash on Highway 99 near Eaton Road

CHICO, CA (March 8, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, one unidentified woman was injured in a big-rig crash on Highway 99.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred on Highway 99 just before 2:00 p.m. near Eaton Road.

Authorities said that a Toyota RAV4 and a semi-truck merged into each other while heading south. Upon impact, the RAV4 veered off the highway and crashed into the fence at the back of Almond Tree Mini Storage.

As a result of the impact, the female Toyota driver suffered minor injuries and was eventually picked up by a friend refusing to go with the medical personnel.

Meanwhile, the semi-truck driver remained uninjured.

A portion of the highway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. Chico Officials continue to investigate the big-rig crash on Highway 99.
