34-Year-Old Woman Hospitalized after Car Accident on Hollister Street

SAN DIEGO, CA (September 12, 2022) – Wednesday afternoon, a 34-year-old woman was hospitalized after a 2-vehicle crash on Coronado Avenue.

The incident happened on August 10th, at around 5:16 p.m., at the intersection of Coronado Avenue and Hollister Street.

According to reports, a deputy was responding to a priority emergency call in a department patrol vehicle equipped with lights and a siren. The deputy then approached the intersection of Hollister Street on Coronado Avenue.

Just as the deputy was driving through the intersection, a woman driving a white Ford Mustang coupe approached from the Interstate 5 off-ramp. As a result, the patrol car ended up slamming into the side of the Mustang.

Paramedics arrived shortly after and rushed the Mustang driver to a local hospital for treatment after she complained of back pain. Meanwhile, the deputy involved escaped the crash unharmed.
