Traffic Accident on Derby Street Left One Seriously Injured

BERKELEY, CA (July 28, 2022) – On Monday, a pedestrian crash on Telegraph Avenue left a woman with serious injuries.

The incident happened around 4:50 p.m., on Telegraph Avenue and Derby Street.

According to police, the pedestrian was crossing the street on Telegraph Avenue, when a car, turning onto Telegraph Avenue from Derby Street, struck her. The collision left the pedestrian with critical injuries.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after and transported the woman to a nearby hospital for treatment of her wounds.

After the crash, Berkeley Officials closed Telegraph Avenue, between Ward and Carleton, and Derby, between Dana and Regent, for preliminary duties. Meanwhile, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
