Hit-and-Run Crash near Porterville Left One Woman Injured

TULARE COUNTY, CA (February 23, 2022) – A hit-and-run on Route 137 left a woman riding a motorized scooter injured, authorities said.

According to the police the hit-and-run crash occurred around Route 137, west of Road 96 near Porterville.

Furthermore, authorities immediately responded to the scene upon receiving reports about the crash.

Moreover, the California Highway Patrol said that the suspect fled the scene towards Tulare but later contacted police and turned themselves in.

Meanwhile, the woman riding the motorized scooter sustained serious injuries.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shut down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Tulare County officials are currently investigating the hit-and-run crash.
