19-Year-Old Female Passenger Injured in Hit-and-Run near Symons Lane

TURLOCK, CA (March 1, 2023) – Saturday night, a woman was injured and Jorge Vasquez was arrested after a hit-and-run on Vassar Avenue.

Police responded to the scene around 11:20 p.m., at the 400 block of Vassar Avenue on February 18th.

According to reports, Vasquez was driving a pickup-truck when he veered off the road and struck the front of a nearby residence. Vasquez then fled the scene before authorities arrived.

Shortly after, a suspect located the vehicle at the intersection of Geer Road and East Canal Drive and followed it until police responded.

Crews were able to track down the suspect at an apartment complex in the 1500 block of Lander Avenue. There, 19-year-old Vasquez and a 19-year-old female passenger were next to the pickup-truck.

Investigators also determined that the vehicle was involved in a second collision. As a result, officers arrested and booked Jorge Vasquez into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center for DUI causing bodily harm.

Reports also stated that the female passenger sustained minor injuries.
