1 Hospitalized Following a Hit-and-Run Crash on State Route 97

WAPATO, WA (August 26, 2021) – A woman sustained injuries in a hit-and-run crash on State Route 97 in Wapato on Monday night.

The incident occurred on State Route 97 in Wapato near West Wapato Road around 5:45 p.m. on August 23.

According to the WSP, the 58-year-old woman was a passenger in a southbound car that had slowed for traffic when they were hit by a blue 2001 Honda Accord.

The Honda Accord fled the scene after the collision.

Paramedics then transported the injured woman to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Furthermore, WSP says they are still looking for the driver who caused the accident. Witnesses are encouraged to cooperate and contact investigators as soon as possible.
