74-Year-Old Woman Hurt in Stolen Septic Tank Crash near Alpine Road

SONOMA COUNTY, CA (September 7, 2023) – Wednesday morning, a hit-and-run on Calistoga Road left a woman injured. The incident occurred on August 30th, at around 11:30 a.m., on Calistoga Road near Alpine Road. According to reports, a man stole a septic truck on Llano Road, between Sebastopol and Santa Rosa. He then drove the vehicle south on Calistoga Road when he lost control just south of Alpine Road. Subsequently, the driver overcorrected and collided with a Mercedes Benz SUV, pushing it off the road. The truck then overturned and landed across the roadway. Responding crews from Sonoma County Fire arrived and extricated the driver of the Mercedes from her vehicle. Paramedics rushed the 74-year-old Saint Helena woman to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. Based on a witness at the scene, the male driver of the stolen truck exited the vehicle and fled on foot.
