Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Accident near South Roosevelt Street in Tempe

TEMPE, AZ (October 21, 2021) – Saturday night, a woman was fatally struck in a deadly pedestrian crash on West Broadway Road. 

Around 9:45 p.m, the accident occurred near the intersection of West Broadway Road and South Roosevelt Street. 

According to reports, a pedestrian was attempting to cross mid-block on West Broadway Road when an eastbound vehicle struck her. The woman suffered life-threatening injuries as a result.

Paramedics transported the pedestrian to a local hospital for further treatment. Despite life-saving efforts, she was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Additionally, the driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation. However, their identity has not yet been released.

At this time, officer do not suspect that alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision. The pedestrian crash on West Broadway Road is still under active investigation.
