Female Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near West 4th Avenue
SPOKANE, WA (September 8, 2023) – Wednesday night, one woman was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on South Maple Street.
Around 6:30 p.m., police responded to the scene near West 4th Avenue after receiving multiple calls in the area.
Following preliminary investigations, officers say the driver of a vehicle struck a woman in the area. In addition, police say she was crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk.
Paramedics arrived and transported the woman to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Due to the extent of injuries sustained, medics later pronounced the female pedestrian dead at the hospital. Although, authorities have not yet released her identity.
Emergency crews closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, further details have been provided about the fatal pedestrian accident on South Maple Street.
