Woman Pronounced Dead after Pedestrian Crash near Lanai Avenue

SAN JOSE, CA (May 8, 2023) – Early Monday morning, a woman was killed in a pedestrian collision on Tully Road. Police responded to the scene around 4:32 a.m., near Lanai Avenue in the city of San Jose. According to reports, the driver of a blue Honda coupe was heading west on Tully Road and struck a woman who was walking north on Lanai Avenue outside of a marked crosswalk. Medics arrived and took the woman to a nearby hospital for further treatment of critical injuries. Due to the extent of injuries sustained, crews pronounced her dead at the hospital. Meanwhile, the involved male driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Authorities shut down westbound Tully Road from Seacliff Way to Highway 101 as of 6:00 a.m. Monday. At this time, the identity of the deceased woman has not been released to the public pending notification from the next of kin. San Jose Officials are asking anyone with further information to contact local authorities immediately.
