Suspect at Large after Fatal Pedestrian Crash near La Cienega Boulevard

LOS ANGELES, CA (July 30, 2024) – A female pedestrian was killed early Tuesday morning, in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash at the 5798 block of West Obama Boulevard.

The incident occurred at approximately 1:55 a.m., near La Cienega Boulevard in Baldwin Hills.

According to a witness, the driver of a dark-colored sedan struck a woman crossing the street with her boyfriend against a green light. After the collision, the driver fled the scene without offering aid or contacting authorities.

Medics arrived and pronounced the 40-year-old female victim dead at the scene, though her name has not been released to the public. Investigators stated that the victim’s boyfriend managed to avoid the vehicle and was not injured.

Police are currently searching for a dark-colored Toyota Camry that fled before authorities arrived.

The city of Los Angeles is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest. Anyone with information about the fatal hit-and-run on West Obama Boulevard is encouraged to contact the LAPD.
