Woman Fatally Struck by Train in Collision near Marlborough Avenue

RIVERSIDE, CA (February 10, 2022) – Sunday night, a woman died in a Metrolink commuter train accident on Chicago Avenue in east Riverside.

The accident happened around 7:00 p.m., near the Chicago and Marlborough Avenue railroad crossing.

The train conductor spotted the victim sitting on the tracks as the train approached, according to the report. The conductor sounded the horns but was unable to stop in time and collided with her.

Riverside Fire Department officials pronounced the homeless woman deceased at the spot. Although, authorities withheld the victim’s identification.

The Riverside police will release additional information once it becomes available.
