Female Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Dunlap Avenue
PHOENIX, AZ (September 17, 2024) – One woman died late Monday night, in a pedestrian accident on 35th and Dunlap Avenue.
Police officers responded to the scene around 10:45 p.m., on September 9th.
After an initial investigation, authorities determined that a woman was crossing Dunlap Avenue outside of a designated crosswalk when a passing vehicle struck her, causing severe injuries.
Phoenix Police found the woman on the road with life-threatening wounds. Paramedics swiftly transported her to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Despite medical efforts, the woman was later pronounced dead. Her identity has not yet been released by authorities. The driver involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
Emergency crews temporarily closed the area for cleanup and initial investigation.
