Skateboard Rider Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Crash on Topham Street

LOS ANGELES, CA (September 14, 2021) – Early Tuesday morning, an unidentified woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Tampa Avenue.

Officers arrived to the intersection of Tampa Avenue and Topham Street around 12:30 a.m.

Per reports, the woman was hit by a Toyota Avalon before the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the victim.

Due to the extent of injuries sustained, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. However, her identity has not yet been given.

The surrounding area on Tampa Avenue was closed for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. But, the road has since reopened to traffic.

At this time, an active investigation to determine further details is still underway.
