Unidentified Woman Pronounced Dead after Two-Car Accident near 2nd Street
EL CAJON, CA (January 30, 2023) – Early Sunday morning, one woman was fatally injured in a fiery 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 8.
Police responded to the scene around 4:30 a.m., on the eastbound lanes of the freeway near the 2nd Street off-ramp.
At this time, the events leading up to the incident remain unclear. However, reports indicate that the female victim was driving a Mitsubishi sports car and collided with another vehicle.
In addition, the Mitsubishi veered off the roadway and struck several trees before coming to a stop. Upon arrival, emergency crews located the vehicle engulfed in flames.
First responders arrived and closed off the surrounding area for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. Once available, more details will be provided.
