Bicycle Collision on Rocky Ridge Left 1 Fatality

JOHNSON PARK, CA (July 6, 2023) – On Monday evening, a 38-year-old woman was killed in a bicycle crash on Highway 299 involving a 2015 Subaru Impreza.

The collision happened at around 9:00 p.m., near Rocky Ridge Road.

According to reports, an eastbound bicyclist was riding along the south shoulder when an elderly driver of a 2015 Subaru Impreza driving east swerved off the road and onto the shoulder, colliding with the rear end of the bicycle.

Investigators said the cyclist was subsequently ejected from her bike and died at the site of her injuries.

Meanwhile, the involved driver stayed at the site of the incident and cooperated with the investigators.

Unfortunately, the first responders declared the female bicyclist dead at the scene.

Alcohol, drugs, or speed did not play a role in the crash, and the investigation is currently ongoing.
