6-Year-Old Child Hurt in Deadly 2-Car Collision near Avenue 256

VISALIA, CA (January 28, 2022) – Monday, a woman was killed and two, including a young child, were hurt in a head-on crash on Road 140.

Officers responded to the scene around 8:30 a.m., just south of Avenue 256 in Tulare County.

According to reports, a 30-year-old woman driving a Nissan was heading north on Road 140. For reasons unknown, she veered into the opposite lane and crashed head-on with an approaching Jeep.

The female Nissan driver died at the scene while her passenger, a 6-year-old boy, sustained minor injuries. Both are related to each other and the boy is now with family members.

Meanwhile, a 32-year-old victim from inside the Jeep was flown to Kaweah Health Medical Center with serious injuries.

Following preliminary investigations, alcohol intoxication, drugs and speeding were not considered as factors that led to the deadly crash. At this time, an active investigation is still underway.
