Female Pedestrian Hospitalized after Hit-and-Run Collision near Camino Ruiz

SAN DIEGO, CA (January 23, 2023) – Saturday afternoon, a woman was critically injured in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Jade Coast Drive.

Authorities responded to the scene around 1:30 p.m., near Camino Ruiz on January 14th after receiving multiple dispatch calls.

Per reports, the driver of a red or burgundy Cadillac STS failed to yield at a red light and struck a woman who was walking within the marked crosswalk.

Upon impact, the driver fled the scene and was last seen heading northbound. The female pedestrian suffered serious wounds including a significant brain bleed. Paramedics transported her to a local hospital in critical condition.

No other details about the driver were available at this time and the San Diego Police Traffic Division is handling the investigation. Once available, more information will be provided about the pedestrian crash on Jade Coast Drive.
