A 44-year-old Thousand Oaks woman was charged Monday in the murder of 21-year-old actress Juliana Redding, who was found dead in her Santa Monica apartment on March 16, 2008, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office.

Kelly Soo Park was expected to be arraigned on the murder charge later Monday. Prosecutors allege that Park entered the victim's apartment one day before she was found “and physically assaulted her, causing her death,” according to the D.A.'s office.

A suspect named Ronnie Wayne Case, 34, was also arrested in connection with the case, but it had yet to be determined if charges would be brought against him.

Redding was a budding actress with a few credits to her name. She was also described as an aspiring model. She moved to the Los Angeles area from Tucson to pursue her dreams.

On the day her body was found authorities had been sent to her apartment to conduct a welfare check at the behest of her mother, who was concerned because Redding had not been heard from.

Prosecutors were recommending bail for Park be set at $1 million. She faces 25 years to live behind bars if she's convicted.
