Now an unheard-of nighttime attack has been reported on campus.
A woman who attends UCLA says she was grabbed by a man with a knife, who inflicted three “minor cuts” to one of her arms, school police said in a statement:

The man grabbed the woman from behind, cops said. The attack was interrupted when a bystander yelled and the suspect “let go” of the student and fled, police said.
It happened about 8:30 Wednesday night on the northeast side of the Murphy Sculpture Garden, according to the statement.
The suspect was wearing a black long-sleeve sweater and dark pants, possibly made of denim, cops said.
He “smelled of alcohol,” according to the statement.
Anyone with information on the suspect was asked to call 310-825-1491.
