A woman waiting for the bus at Vermont Avenue and Century Boulevard was abducted by two unidentified men last night around midnight, L.A. sheriff's deputies report. While they held her captive in their vehicle, they raped her and stole her purse, according to ABC7, who alleges the bag contained her Blackberry and her wallet.

Sheriff's Department watch commander Sergeant Strickland says he can only tell us it was a “sexual assault,” due to victims' rights. He also says investigators are treating it as an “attempted murder.” He adds that the suspects are two black men…

… who left their victim bleeding from the face at 108th Street and Vermont Avenue, in an unincorporated part of L.A. County called Westmont. Law enforcement was flagged down by a “woman nearby” at 12:45 a.m. this morning, ABC7 reports.

From City News Service:

The victim was standing at a bus stop near Vermont Avenue and Century Boulevard when two men pulled up in a car and forced her inside at gunpoint, according to broadcast reports. The suspects then allegedly assaulted her after they drove to the cul-de-sac on 108th Street.

Updates to come as they're available.
