Wizard World announced this morning that it is bringing Los Angeles Comic Con to the L.A. Convention Center September 24 and 25. Artist Mike Deodato Jr. (The Amazing Spider-Man, Batman and many more) is the first announced guest of honor for the event. Clare Kramer, who played Glory on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, is also set to appear.

Wizard World hosts fan conventions in numerous cities across the country, including Chicago, Austin and New York. According the press release, Los Angeles Comic Con will be replacing Big Apple Comic Con on its fall schedule. The New York convention is now moving to the spring.

The company is also behind Anaheim Comic Con, which will take place this weekend at Anaheim Convention Center beginning today. Guests at the convention will include Batman Adam West, Burt Ward, Lee Meriwether and Julie Newmar, comic artist Dustin Nguyen, Matt Cohen from SmodCastle and many more. Check the website for a full list of guests and events.

After talk last year of the possibility of San Diego Comic-Con moving to L.A. (it's not), we should clarify that the Wizard World conventions are not associated with SDCC. Comic Con is a standard term for the gatherings and many cities have one. Now Los Angeles does too.
