In his latest book, Vincent Bugliosi — the attorney who has penned true-crime books about some of the nation's most nefarious scumbags — has focused his prosecutorial skills on a new, and some would say equally deserving, target: President George W. Bush. In The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder, Bugliosi lays out a case for putting the soon-to-be-ex-prez on trial for the deaths of more than 4,000 soldiers in Iraq based on the grounds that he led the country into war under false pretenses. The idea may seem a little cracked, but it's difficult to argue against Bugliosi's credentials. During his career at the L.A. District Attorney's office he prosecuted Charles Manson and turned the story of the Manson Family murders into the classic crime book Helter Skelter. He also penned the bestseller Outrage, which painstakingly detailed the flaws in the prosecution that led to O.J. Simpson's acquittal for murder, and spent two decades producing a mind-boggling 1,612-page tome scrutinizing the assassination of John F. Kennedy.
